Here, we wanted to work with building developers to incorporate flood resilience measures into new houses.
Sustainable drainage systems are a variety of water management tools designed to prevent flooding, improve water quality and benefit biodiversity by slowing surface run-off into sewers, drains and other watercourses. They are often based on natural structures such as ponds, swales/ditches and wetlands. Examples of other micro-sustainable drainage systems include green roofs on bin stores and sheds.
This will not now fit into our timeframe for the project, due to planning permission refusals.
