At our recent event in Belfair Woods, the public created an amazing community mural capturing the goals of our upper catchment measures. It shows Prittle Brook next to areas of woodland and farmland, with real-life, nature-based solutions that will be implemented as part of Catchment to Coast’s work.

See if you can spot a leaky-dam, a wildlife pond and vegetation buffers around areas of farmland? (Oh and a stray penguin!)

The will be one of a three-part community mural series, each representing a catchment area from the project. The next urban and middle catchment mural may demonstrate some water capture storage and re-use measures in action, such as water butts. The coastal and lower catchment mural might show some of our saltmarsh regeneration planting, or one of our flood warning beacons that will be co-designed with the community, or maybe even another stray penguin …We will have to wait and see!
